A long time ago (two years) I made up a game, anytime I went out to grab a bite by the end of the meal I needed to have a completed drawing. SO FUN SOUNDING, RIGHT?! Well it was fun for me. The second I sit down it's go time and I quickly fumble on my phone to find some inspiration then grab a napkin and hope for the best. It was and still is annoying for any company because I'm not that great a conversationalist when shoving bites and furiously striking a napkin with my sharpie. I don't do it quite as often as I used to but recently I took a trip out to Oregon and Seattle. Since I had nothing better to do I got a mini sketch pad and started the game back up.
I got to catch a few exhibits in Seattle which was AWESOME! I don't go to art shows or museums very often, I'm usually running around throughout the week and my reward for getting through the week is weekend breakfast tacos and lazing about the apartment with no pants, new drawings and a trip to Barnes and Noble to graze at art and photography books. Regardless I saw some cool things! One exhibit that surprised me was of an artist who used legos as his medium, he used to have a "real job" as a lawyer or something of that variety then said fuck it and glued legos together. I like his story and that he's probably got a lego sponsorship for life! One day I'll have my own video like his only sponsored by Sharpie ;) Annnyhow I was going to put pictures of things I liked that I took but this is the modern age and we modern folk can just put up video.
